Meet Our staff of professional guides
Jeff Loftin
Guide Jeff Loftin has been fly fishing since he was ten years old.
He’s chased salmon on the Pacific, Char in the Rockies, and Red Drum on the Gulf, but his
favorite fishing has been right here in the Southeast.
Jeff has been a full-time hunting and
fishing guide for over twenty-five years. He is considered to be one of the most experienced
fly fishing guides on the legendary South Holston River and on the many fisheries in the Smoky
Mountain National Park. His skill for putting people on fish, even under difficult conditions,
is extraordinary. Whether teaching beginners the art of fly fishing or helping improve the skills
of experienced anglers, Jeff is passionate about promoting the fly fishing experience.
When not
guiding, Jeff spends much of his time writing fly fishing articles. He has recently completed his
first book, “Fly Fishing – Day One to Die Hard”. If you want to experience fly fishing on a whole
different level, Jeff is your man.
Terry Pricthard
Guide Terry Pricthard knows the smallmouth fisheries of Western North Carolina better than anyone.
He has fished virtually every mile of smallie waters in WNC and East Tennessee. Whether fly fishing
or spin fishing, Terry knows what it takes to catch the most aggressive freshwater fish – the
smallmouth bass! Rated by ESPN as one of the top smallie fisheries in the US, The North Toe
River/Nolichucky is the place to fish if you are looking for trophy smallmouth bass. If you are
ready to experience a trip of a life time, you need to spend a day smallie fishing with Terry.
Steve Mingle
Growing up in Little Switzerland now living in Marion, Steve knows our streams and rivers better than most. When he’s
not guiding he’s on the water locating fish, on the river experimenting with new equipment, or
in the shop tying flies. With over 20 years guide experience his “fish sense”, local knowledge, and great personality make him a favorite
among our repeat clients.
Josh King
Guide Josh King grew up fishing the wild trout waters of Western North Carolina. As far as local knowledge on wild trout waters go, Josh is your guide. In Josh’s words, “There is nothing more exciting than catching wild brown trout on a fly.” If you want to experience fly fishing on remote wilderness fisheries with a guide that is devoted to putting you on good fish, then you’ll want to request Josh. Josh has the experience and knowledge that keeps bringing clients back.
