Terry Pricthard

Guide Terry Pricthard knows the smallmouth fisheries of Western North Carolina better than anyone. He has fished virtually every mile of smallie waters in WNC and East Tennessee. Whether fly fishing or spin fishing, Terry knows what it takes to catch the most aggressive freshwater fish – the smallmouth bass! Rated by ESPN as one of the top smallie fisheries in the US, The North Toe River/Nolichucky is the place to fish if you are looking for trophy smallmouth bass. If you are ready to experience a trip of a life time, you need to spend a day smallie fishing with Terry.

Cade Buchanan

Cade grew up fishing the wild trout waters of Western North Carolina. As far as local knowledge on wild trout waters go, Cade is your guide. In Cade’s words, “There is nothing more exciting than catching big, wild brown trout on a fly.” If you want to experience fly fishing on remote wilderness fisheries with a guide that is devoted to putting you on good fish, then you’ll want to request Cade. Cade has the experience and knowledge that keeps bringing clients back.

Scott Graham

Scott came to River’s Edge Outfitters from Texas. That’s right Texas! Scott owned and operated a highly successful trout and tarpon guide service in Guadeloupe,Tx for many years. Tailrace fishing for rainbow trout and chasing big tarpons in the summer, Scott has spent many years on the water. He knows our streams and rivers better than most. When he’s not guiding he’s on the water locating fish, on the river experimenting with new equipment, or in the shop tying flies. Scott is one of the few guides on the east coast that has been successful at catching Muskie on a fly. Whether fishing the French Broad or the Nolichucky, Scott consistently puts clients on “Big Muskies”. With over 20 years of guiding experience his “fish sense”, local knowledge, and great personality make him a favorite among our repeat clients.

Scott Lewis

Scott Lewis was raised in Columbia, SC, but attended universities in Tennessee and Montana. He holds degrees in biology and med-tech, and is also a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (www.nols.edu), where he had the privilege of teaching fly-fishing in 1995. He grew up fishing ponds and lakes for bass, caught his first trophy bass at age 12, and from ages 11-15 fished more than 150 days/year. During his college years he explored and fished all over the American West. For the past 12 years he has focused on fly-fishing the southern Appalachian tri-state region (TN, VA, and NC), especially the Tennessee tailwaters. In addition to fishing, he enjoys SCUBA-diving rivers, photography, backpacking, and fly-design, and is the proud father of 2 boys, ages 11 & 13.

Tommy Johnson

From the time I was a small boy fishing with sewing thread for line, I have enjoyed fly fishing small streams. That is where you can truly experience fly fishing at its best. Though the fish tend to run smaller, it is still a big adventure. I enjoy bass fishing and won the 2008 Basscraft Tournament Championship, but my passion is on a small stream with a floating dry fly and no cell phone service.

Israel Gibson

Israel grew up here in the Western NC mountains chasing trout in the many wild streams that surround his home. Along with his trout fishing addiction, he is also an accomplished bass fisherman. Having fished the "Fishers of Men and BFL" bass circuit for seven years…he won the NC state points championship in 2002 and 2004. His main passion however is fly fishing. Whether targeting wild water browns or chasing bronze-back smallies, your day with Israel will be one of your most memorable days on the water.
