Rivers Edge Outfitters Kayak Trips
|
Rivers Edge Outfitters offers self guided kayaking river trips on the scenic Toe River in Western North Carolina. The canoeing and kayaking river trips range from 2 hours up to all day.
To save time upon your arrival, print out our liability release form, read and complete both pages of
the form for each member in the party. All participants under 18 must have the release form filled out
by legal parents or guardian. Remember to bring them with you.
Trip fee includes:
Kayak, life jacket, paddle, shuttle service to and from the river, a river map, river information and safety orientation, and free parking.
Put-In Area:
Your kayaking trip embarks from Spruce Pine, a short drive from our river shop.
Take-Out Areas:
River trips end at one of the three take-outs.
Hours of Operation
Year-round Monday through Saturday 10:00 to 6:00 with trips leaving every two hours
(March through November weather permitting)
Sunday trips available upon request
Lifevests are provided and we recommend that you wear them. North Carolina law requires children under 12
years of age to WEAR the life vests while in a moving boat. |

Bring/Wear:
Swim suits or tee shirt and shorts in the summer months. Spring and fall paddlers need to wear clothes that will remain warm when wet. River shoes or sandals are suggested. No flip flops. A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a dry change of clothes are always advisable.
We make every effort to provide you a memorable day on the river. Life jackets and shoes are required.
Please, no glass containers or Styrofoam on the river. If you pack it in, pack it out!

Paddling times vary according to weather and water conditions
Upper Toe River run: 3 miles, 2 hours $20
Lower Toe River runs: 5 miles, 4 hours $25
Nolichucky run: 10 miles, 7 hours $30
Overnight camping trips are available. Please call for pricing.
We want your Toe River Experience to be a safe and happy one. We ask our guests to use common sense and
good manners while on the Creek. Although much of the Creek flows through the scenic natural forest land, some of
the property is privately owned. Please respect the property rights of the landowners. Place all litter
in a litter bag and keep it in the canoe until the end of the trip.
If kayaks, paddles, or life vests are lost or damaged beyond the normal wear and tear; you will be
expected to pay the repair or replacement expense.
We are not responsible for accidents or injuries caused directly or indirectly in the use of rented
canoes.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
