We will supply you with all of the tackle and flies while teaching you valuable skills and techniques. Casting strokes, knots, fly selection, reading water, presentation techniques, wading safety, and tips for safely handling and releasing trophy size trout are all part of our program.
Our "Private Waters" offer guaranteed solitude and the chance to catch trophy-sized trout (up to 25 inches) in a pristine mountain stream environment.

Our full day local wade trips take place on wild and hatchery supported/delayed harvest trout streams. However these trips allow our guide to take you to places that could not be reached with the time allowed on a half day trip. You will also be able to fish an assortment of great locations if the conditions allow.

River's Edge Outfitters Spruce Pine is located on the banks of the North Toe River. This is a 60 mile long river system that includes wild trout fishing in the headwaters, General and Delayed Harvest trout fisheries throughout the upper reaches, and then smallmouth bass and musky fishing throughout the lower reaches. The North Toe River is one of the best kept secrets regarding smallmouth bass fisheries. Whether wading or floating, this is a river system that needs to be explored. In addition, our Spruce Pine shop is centrally located between the three highest peaks on the east coast: Grandfather Mountain, Mount Mitchell, and Roan Mountain. All three mountain regions contain vast amounts of trout waters teeming with wild rainbows, browns, and speckled trout. Additionally, the Catawba River tailrace, the Wilson CreekAdditionally, the Catawba River tailrace, the Wilson Creek Delayed Harvest, the Watauga Delayed Harvest, and the Curtis Creek Delayed Harvest are all within a few miles of our shop.

With over 3000 miles of trout water within an hour's radius of our shop, this area boast's some of the best fly fishing on the East Coast. The Tuckasegee River, the Nantahala River, the Oconoluftee River, the Raven's Fork, and the Little Tennessee River are just a few of the river systems that we fly fish.
