Fishing Report - September 2011
With the end of summer behind us, we have finally got some much needed rain. Fly Fishing is really starting to pick up with the cooler temperatures that we are experiencing. Wild trout waters in the area are fishing the best that we have seen in months. The South Toe River, North Toe River, Daniel Boone Refuge and the tributaries that feed these basins are fishing all fishing well. Wild fish are reacting well to yellow and orange stimulators, natural Pheasant-tails, Hare's Ears, and Micro May Fly Nymphs. Hatchery supported waters are starting to cool off and fish are becoming much more active.
Delayed Harvest water opens on October 1st and it will be stocked around the 4th. You can expect good success on eggs, hares ears, streamers, wooly buggers, and Y2K patterns.
